While most thought Nintendo was just making a joke, the famed company is really releasing a strictly 2D version of the 3DS called the Nintendo 2DS on October 12th. The new handheld will retail for $129.99, will come in red and blue colors, and will be a solid piece of hardware with no hinges, meaning you'll want to get the case for it that's shown in the video to protect those screens. It will play all the 3DS and DS titles that the previous systems can play, and features the same size screens and buttons as the 3DS. While it would've been nice if this had came out around the same time as the 3DS XL, I'm sure those who have been holding off for a portable are likely to pick this one up for the holidays. Thanks to USA Today!

At Gamescom earlier today, Sony finally announced that the PlayStation 4 will be released on November 15, 2013 in the U.S. and Canada, and on November 29, 2013 in Europe. They also announced a price drop for the PlayStation Vita portable system, which is now $199 in North America. Those looking to pick up a PS4 now have plenty of time to save up, and some much needed new games and a lower price might see Vita sales go up this year. Only time will tell.

Hard to believe we're only three months away from seeing Thor: The Dark World, and Marvel has released the official trailer for it during YouTube's Geek Week. I'm liking what I see in this footage, especially how they're keeping the main villian a secret. I can't wait for November 8, 2013 to get here, but until then please enjoy this awesome trailer!

I have always loved the Muppets, and I was so glad when they returned to the big screen back in 2011. Now the long awaited sequel is about hit early next year, and here we get a sneak peek at some of the zany fun that's in store in Muppets Most Wanted. With loads of cameos and even Scooter performing his own take on "Moves like Jagger" with some penguins, this film looks to be every bit as hilarious as fans would expect. Enjoy the teaser!

Looks like the CW is bringing another DC Comics superhero to television with The Flash. Riding on the success of shows such as Smallville and the new Arrow series, CW will bring the speedy hero to the small screen next year, but will introduce him in the upcoming second season of Arrow this fall. While that's some pretty good news, there's also some bad to it, as CW's Wonder Woman series "Amazon" had been put on the back burner while the company works on the Flash series. Either way, we'll be getting some pretty sweet comic book action soon. Thanks to Deadline.com!

I would've never thought I'd see Jeff Bridges play in a sword and sorcery film, but here he is in the upcoming movie Seventh Son. Here he stars as Master Gregory, the last of the Falcon Knights who had imprisoned the powerful witch Mother Malkin (played by Julianne Moore). After she escapes from her prison, Malkin has nothing but revenge on her mind for Gregory and the entire world. It's up to him to train a young man to become a Falcon Knight and save the world. This film looks to be a pretty interesting follow up to Bridges' upcoming R.I.P.D. movie, as it looks like he's on a fantasy / sci-fi trip now. Enjoy the trailer as we wait for more fantasy action on January 17, 2014!

I never thought I'd see directors Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (21 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) helm the upcoming Lego film, but here we are with the trailer for The Lego Movie. The plot follows the adventures of Emmet, an everyday Lego guy who has been tasked with stopping the evil President Business from taking over the entire Lego universe. Of course he'll have help from plenty of the franchises Lego is tied into, from DC Comic characters to Star Wars. Featuring voices such as Will Ferrell and Liam Neeson, this may just be the Lego film we've been waiting for. Enjoy the trailer as we wait for all the pieces to come together in 2014!

Walt Disney Animation Studios is on a roll. After making such hit films like Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph, their next one titled Frozen looks to be another great title for them as well. The plot will follow a young lady named Anna who sets off on an epic journey with a mountain man to find her sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped their kingdom in eternal winter. But for now we get a look at two of the comic relief characters, a snowman and a reindeer who show off some of their antics in this teaser. Enjoy the trailer as wait for adventure to thaw out on November 27, 2013!

It looks like we finally get a brief look at the dragon who has terrified fans for years in the teaser trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. While it comes at the very end (and sadly with no dialogue from the great Benedict Cumberbatch), viewers finally get to see the the infamous beast complete with awesome facial expressions. Also featured in the trailer is the return of Orlando Bloom as the fan-favorite elf Legolas. Enjoy the teaser as wait for some dragon slaying action this December!

While last year's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was a hit or miss for most, things may be a little better in the second movie titled The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. While the teaser poster was released today, the trailer will be coming later this week, which I know fans can't wait to see if they can catch a glimpse of the infamous dragon. Enjoy the poster as December 13th, 2013 and the trailer can't come soon enough.
