Eagle-eyed reader and Popzara fanatic Paul Clinton Lyons spotted a curious thing while playing through the Wii version of the Ghostbusters videogame, which appeared on the Staypuff Marshmallow-featured level 'Going Up'. The game's buffed-out, muscular spoof may have been intended to poke fun at Capcom's original Mega Man cover, but it doesn't take much to see just how similar the character's coloring, design, and...well, everything else is an EXACT lift from Popzara's own Mr. Universal editorial avatar - which, incidentally, is copyright 2007!
The image makes several appearances throughout the level, and if true than Popzara joins an impressive cast of parodied video-celebrities featured in the game (although nowhere as charming as the Super Mario Bros. rip "Fungus Dudes"), as well as an entire level (complete with arcade machines) that poke fun at some of the more popular 8-Bit videogames and their glorious box-art. Of course Atari would never admit such a lift (intentional or otherwise), but who are you going to believe, a mega-publisher or your own lying eyes? Then again, flattery will get you everywhere...
