For those who have wondered how the
PlayStation Vita's Cross Play feature is supposed to work, your questions are now answered in this video from the
European PlayStation blog. In it, some of the game developers for the upcoming
WipeOut 2048 title go into detail on how you'll be able to play the game on your PlayStation 3, then continue it on your Vita, and play against other PS3 users on your Vita and vice versa. Enjoy the video while waiting to see how Sony's new device fares on February 22, 2012!
While I'm still not feeling the whole remake / reboot thing, the latest trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man does look a little promising. There's plenty of spidey quips, butt-kicking action, and finally some footage of the lizard in action. Enjoy the trailer while waiting for some spider action to spin its web on July 3, 2012
For the first time ever, Nintendo is giving gamers the chance to pick the alternate box cover art for the upcoming RPG smash
Xenoblade Chronicles before it's released in North America. The company is offering a selection of four different covers to choose from, which can be seen on their Facebook page
HERE. Here's hoping this will pave the way for more companies to give gamers a chance to be part of a title's creative process in the future.

The head of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata has just announced that the company is set to release their own online service, appropriately called the Nintendo Network. Here gamers will be able to compete, communicate, and purchase digital content, much like Sony's PlayStation Network and Microsoft's Xbox Live.
There's also special plans for when the Wii U is released, as users will have personal network accounts for their new tablet-sporting consoles, with the promise of being able to purchase DLC and play game demos (who'd have thought?). While there isn't a release date for the service, it's good to know that Nintendo is finally getting on the ball with this, as it's been a long time coming. Thanks to Engadget!
With
Street Fighter X Tekken set to hit consoles soon, Capcom has just announced that the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions will have a few exclusive characters on their roster.
Mega Man,
Pac-Man,
Kuro / Toro, and
Cole from the Playstation 3 hit
inFamous will be joining in the battle of the Capcom and Namco worlds. While it's cool that Mega Man is featured in the title, it's not the one that everyone is used to, but instead the funky looking one from the american artwork of the 80's NES game covers. How this will work out is anyone's guess, but you can view a video of the characters in action
HERE at Capcom Unity's blog.
Just when you thought the Academy Awards were safe to watch again, they release a nominee list that contains more block voting than you can shake a rusty movie reel can at. Led by Martin Scorcece's Hugo (with a whopping 11 nominations) and the ode to silent-cinema The Artist (with 10 nominations), the 84th Academy Awards could be anyone's year as the rest of the nominees are a strange mix of predictable (George Clooney and Meryl Streep), the unpredictable ("Man of a Muppet"), the strange (yes, Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a multi-nominee), and the shunned (no nomination for Alan Rickman in the final Harry Potter).
Check out the full list to see if your favorites made the cut at the official site HERE, and watch the predictable show unfold when it airs on February 26, 2012!
Those who enjoy performing classic video game music can finally stop searching the web for music sheets, as Alfred Music Publishing is officially releasing four licensed Nintendo-oriented songbooks. There's
Super Mario for Guitar,
Super Mario for Piano,
Super Mario for Easy Piano and
The Legend of Zelda for Piano, which contain more than 30 songs from various games in each of their series. Each book retails for between $16.99 and $19.99, and for those who enjoy ebooks, Super Mario for Piano and The Legend of Zelda for Piano are also available on Apple's iBookstore. If this goes well, I'm sure it won't be long until more classic game songbooks are available. Thanks to

It looks like everyone's favorite alien time traveler is set to return to the gaming world in 2012 with
Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock. While there's not a lot of information on the title so far, the title is being developed by Supermassive games and will teleport its way onto the PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and PC sometime later on in the year. Until then, enjoy the screenshot and look forward to some good old fashioned Doctor Who fun! Thanks to

Capcom recently announced that Resident Evil 6 would be fighting zombies on the Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year, and released this sweet teaser trailer to go along with the annoucement. Even more exciting is that for the first time ever, Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 4 and Chris Redfield from Resident Evil 5 will work together to fight off zombie outbreaks in the U.S. and China. Being a fan of the series, I can't wait to see how it turns out on November 20, 2012 when it hits. And PC gamers are in luck, as it will also come their way not long after the console release. Enjoy the teaser!
Fans of the first
Expendables film may be disappointed to learn that the upcoming sequel,
The Expendables 2, will not carry an R rating. As rumors flew around about a PG-13 rating when Chuck Norris stated that he wouldn't play in a movie with lots of harsh language and the producers understood, Sylvester Stallone recently confirmed that the movie would indeed have the rating. But he also confirmed that there would still be plenty of butt kicking action for the fans to enjoy. So not to worry, as I'm sure this film will carry one of the hardest PG-13's ever. Thanks to

With
OnLive being available on just about everything, it’s only fitting that it would start making its way to the TV market. Soon, people will be able to use the OnLive Viewer on
Google TV to watch folks play games and use OnLive social features. But the company isn’t stopping there, as they’re working closely with Google to enable full gameplay with OnLive gamers from around the world on Google TV. If this works out, it could definitely be the start of something big for both companies. Thanks

It’s hard to believe that Ryu and the gang have been throwing fireballs and performing other awesome moves for a quarter century now. So it’s only fitting that Capcom would plan something special for one of its biggest franchises of all time in 2012 to celebrate 25 years of
Street Fighter. While there isn’t any details on what the company has planned, they did say August 30 is the series' official 25th birthday. Hopefully more news will become available as the date approaches. Thanks to
Capcom Unity!
