E3 2008: New Mario and Zelda for Wii Confirmed?

Cryptic Nintendo chief Satoru Iwata teased the bystanders mercilessly with the announcement that new titles from the hard-working Mario and Zelda teams are in development and will be coming to the Wii. Does this mean Mario games like Mario Party 8 and Zelda games like Link's Crossbow Training or does it mean a full-fledged series title like Super Mario Galaxy and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess? Or something else altogether?

Can't know. That's all Iwata-san said. It could just mean the teams are working on new games that don't have anything to do with Marioworld and Zeldaland. Or it could be another of those early teasers that last throughout the life of the system only to launch at the start of the new one much like Twilight Princess for the Gamecube eventually saw life on the Wii. All we know is that they're hard at work so let's keep our fingers crossed. Usually we only get one mega Mario and Zelda title per system so it'll be surprising to see what they have in store.
