CES 2011: Snakebyte's Premium Bluetooth Remote Even Tells The Temperature
January 17, 2011 by namreh

While much of their ‘attention' may have been with giving current and potential PlayStation Move users a boost, Snakeybyte wasn't above refining the overall experience, especially when it came to making media playback on Sony's console a quicker, smooth experience.

Meet their new Premium Bluetooth Remote, which packs a cool backlit display, motion start-up, and built-in rechargeable battery for the most exacting Bluetooth media remote on the console yet. Even wilder, it'll even display the current temperature in the room, which is definitely a feature we don't see enough with today's videogame accessories.

CES 2011: Snakebyte Offers PlayStation Move and Navigation Controller Alternatives
January 17, 2011 by namreh

Snakebyte (by way of Sunflex USA) is looking to expand their territory of third-party gaming accessories and peripherals here in the States, and while we've covered many of their products in the past, I couldn't help but feel their showing at this year's CES was more than a little ‘Moving', as the company showed/didn't show off their plans to give would-be PlayStation Move fans a bit more choice in the market.

Third-party PlayStation Move controllers and even a little Snake-Eye action? You bet, and see all of them for yourselves after the jump!

CES 2011: Capcom Goes MotoGP 10/11, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, and Marvel vs. Capcom 3
January 17, 2011 by namreh

Visiting Capcom at the show took us outside the main convention center and right into their own press event, but the trip (and pricey cab fare) was well worth it as we were able to sample many of the publisher's most anticipated releases for 2011. There was plenty excitement to go around, but the three games that really grabbed my attention were probably the same three that'll grab yours when they hit the Xbox 360 and PlayStation consoles soon. Those being MotoGP 10/11, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, and the real highlight of the show (for many), Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Feel free to indulge in a little bionic non-jumping, superhero crossover racing actionyou're your very own amusement right after the jump!

CES 2011: Pansonic Connects New Veira Lineup With Internet Apps, I-Play Casual Gaming
January 17, 2011 by namreh

Panasonic was one of my anticipated booths to visit at CES and for the most part it didn't disappoint. Being one of the forerunners of advancements in 3D home entertainment they had plenty to show off what they had planned 2011. One of their most impressive showings were their highly-connected line of new Viera HDTVs, which seek to take last year's critically-acclaimed lineup and expand them further with new online services, gaming, and even some choice cloud-computing tablet action.

Keep reading to see what Panasonic thinks the future of connected HDTV looks (and plays) like!

CES 2011: Panasonic Introduces The VEIRA Tablet for Cloud-Based Connectivity
January 17, 2011 by namreh

Tablet computers may have been the talk of the show this year, and Panasonic hopes to join the club with their new VIERA Tablet, which is actually designed to work in conjunction with the company's own line of VIERA digital TVs for better control over your media using the Connect apps system, which builds upon the former Viera Cast IPTV suite. This time around though there's going to be more content and now the ability to switch viewing programs on-the-fly between the tablet and the TV itself.

That's the plan, anyway, as there wasn't much to see on the floor. Expect the Tablet to come in sizes ranging from 4" - 10", which should make interfacing with Panasonic's new IPTVs and other ‘connected' devices a lot easier. We hope.

CES 2011: Sony's Bloggie Goes Full 3D With The New MHS-FS3 HD Camera
January 17, 2011 by namreh

While Sony is insistent on adding 3D to practically their entire lineup, my personal favorites had to be the latest version of Bloggie (MHS-FS3), which offer the same ease of use expected of a budget-HD compact camera but with the additional benefit of 3D capability thanks to its two lenses and sensors. The company is promising up to 4 hours of (2D HD) recording while your precious new 3D video can be viewed directly on its 2.4" LCD without glasses...interesting admission there. Of course, these videos whether in 2D or 3D can be uploaded to Facebook, YouTube, or your favorite photo-sharing site. With a 5 megapixel camera and video resolutions up to 1920 x 1080p, this updated Bloggie is certainly hanging with the big boys this time around.

3D Bloggies certainly sound like fun, but actually the majority of Sony's cameras, from the latest Handycams to DSLRs, are set to enter the third-dimensions and panoramic sweep shooting, so you'd best get used to it.

January 17, 2011 by namreh

What would a new CES show be without new Bravia HDTV models to go along with it? Sony certainly didn't disappoint, introducing literally dozens of new entries to their popular Bravia lineup, with the main attraction certainly being the new XBR-HX929 series, which feature fully-loaded online apps and the company's latest 3D LED tech.

Keep reading after the jump for a closer look at the future of the Bravia series... can you say stuffed with features?

CES 2011: Power A's Air-Controlled Air Flo Controllers, Xbox 360-Style Mini Pro for PlayStation 3
January 15, 2011 by namreh

We headed down to the MGM Grand to meet our good friends from accessory maker Power A, and they display what was in the pipe-works for the Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and even the soon-to-be released 3DS. A healthy mix of current and upcoming controllers and accessories were on display, ranging from Lego Wii remotes to a wide-angle sensor bar that made Nintendo's stock version look like a toy. Speaking of toys, I can't forget to mention the wealth of actual Lego and Pokemon-branded accessories on display, which almost made me feel like a kid again.

Unfortunately, the booze made short work on that, but keep reading after the jump for a better look at what hardcore PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 fans can expect from Power A in 2011!

January 15, 2011 by namreh

Verbatim's booth may have been flooded with super-speedy flash drives and USB 3.0 goodness, but it wasn't all data-storage and solid-state technology.  The company is well-known for their accessories, too, and there were plenty of those to go around.  Keyboards and mice were definitely the focal point of the Verbatim's impressive array of new wireless goodies for both the mobile and home computer market, and after taking look at some of them first-hand, I think you'll agree.

CES 2011: Verbatim Goes Rugged with Titan XS and Store ‘n' Go SuperSpeed USB 3.0 for PC/Mac
January 15, 2011 by namreh

While much of Verbatim's attention was directed towards the growing fascination with SSD drives - and who can blame them - those with the need for speed were looking at life in the fast lane. The USB 3.0 fast lane, to be exact, as the company also debuted two new incredibly speedy external 3.0 drives for both PC and Mac users that might help make the inevitable break up with their beloved 2.0 drives a bit easier.

It's not you, it's 3.0. Check out both of Verbatim's vision of faster data-transfer for yourselves right after the jump!

January 15, 2011 by namreh

Verbatim's on a mission to convince the world that data storage on things with ‘moving parts' is yesterday's news, and while they're not above staying classic for old-time's sake, those looking for the latest and greatest flash and solid-states drives may want to take a closer look at what they've got in store for those of you who prefer your memory chips solid 2011.

CES 2011: Nyko On The (PlayStation) Move: Perfect Shot Pro, Charge Stations, and Xbox 360-like Raven
January 13, 2011 by namreh

Third-party peripheral giant sure had plenty of love for every console manufacturer on the floor this year, as their lineup included all sorts of new electronic goodies for the Wii, Xbox 360, and, most of all, Sony's PlayStation 3. Maybe it's because Microsoft's Kinect isn't exactly ‘controller friendly', or maybe they've created just about every controller and charge system for Nintendo's console possible, but it was Sony and their new-fangled Move controllers that really took the cake at Nyko's booth this year.

Yes, Nyko's CES 2011 booth was quite Moving, as Charge Stations, plastic rifles, and even a suspiciously Xbox 360-like Raven all await you right after the jump!

CES 2011: Vizio's 21:9 Cinemawide LED HDTVs, VIO Tablets, Smartphones
January 13, 2011 by namreh

Despite having some of the biggest pre-show announcements at CES this year, HDTV (and potential tablet and smartphone) giant Vizio's booth was surprisingly small, but that's probably because they're keeping some of the biggest surprises close to their hip. The focus this year was on the essentials as the nation's biggest supplier of HDTVs looks to solidify their lead by introducing not only a series of new and exciting enhancements in LED HDTV and 3D technology, but a host of new internet-capable devices and software that could make Vizio a one-stop shop for all your digital entertainment needs. Seriously.

Keep reading to see how Vizio plans to dominate your living room - and beyond - right after the jump!

CES 2011: Optoma Neo-i Projector and 3D-XL Converter Box
January 12, 2011 by namreh

It's been rough going but we've soldiered our way through CES with only minor bruises, and we licked our wounds as we hit up our good friends at Optoma to take a look at what the company has planned for those who prefer their entertainment big and their cost (relatively) small. It didn't take much to wow us over as we played their Pico micro-projector line-up, which the company promises to be the smallest and most powerful DLPs you've ever seen. You'll get no argument from me, especially when something so alarmingly small can project images up to 60'.

Their home theater, gaming, and professional projectors were also represented and as expected looked clear, vivid, and otherwise excellent on a large wall in little bit of removed lighting. But it was their Neo-i projector and 3D-XL Projector Adapter that really caught our attention. Check out both right after the jump to see our thoughts and crystal-clear images of both!
