In what's sure to be the single-most controversial thing about the Xbox 360 since that whole RROD 'thing', the new and completely overhauled Xbox 360 dashboard is almost here, and we've got a video tour! Its a nice look at what the next mandatory install for Xbox owners will go through come release date, although when the narrator calls the Avatar integration 'innovative' I couldn't help stifle a laugh.
Also from the available screenshots, I could have sworn that the new Dashboard would have been more like Microsoft's own Aero multi-window navigation, but its slightly less so. I'm actually digging the new look and feel, but then I like my interfaces shiny and making-sense. How the regular Xbox 360 folk will take this (as many are diehard anti-clean and bubbly) is an entirely different matter. Suck it up, boys, because its not optional.
Also, because I couldn't resist, here's the embarrassingly silly new commercial for the upcoming Dashboard. Just a tip Microsoft - don't make any more ads like this, as your target market will gag. Is that the theme song from Deca Sports? Everybody, Move Your Body!!
P.S. did I mention how AWFUL this ad is? There's gotta be a better way to go casual than this! Yuck!
