XBox Live Arcade's Roogoo Will Appear On Wii and DS
July 18, 2008 by johnlucas

Roogoo is a well-received puzzle game from SouthPeak Games downloadable from XBox Live Arcade since this past June (as well as PC). Players have remarked about the simpler colorful aesthetics yet surprisingly deep gameplay not to mention its entertaining qualities. Hmm, that sounds like this familiar company I know. This company known for its pocket monsters, heroic plumbers, and Hyrulian warriors.

Well, it didn't take long for the simple colorful game with deep yet fun gameplay to join up with the company who practically owns that very concept: Nintendo. With the Roogoo meeting the 'Tendoo we end up with 2 new games!

Keep readin'...

The Wii version of Roogoo will make use of the Wiimote in all of its motion-sensing glory while the DS version of Roogoo will have the Stylus scribbling as only the DS stylus can. Both versions of Roogoo will add new levels and gameplay modes like a 4-player co-op mode and a versus party mode. BUT a new unexpected wrinkle emerges with a feature innovated by Nintendo in its Gamecube/Game Boy Advance days: connectivity.

Both Roogoo versions are cross-compatible meaning that the two games can connect together for a unique exclusive gameplay experience using the DS as a controller for the game's Wii version. But THIS time, unlike the 6th generation's execution of connectivity with the many games Gamecube and Game Boy Advance, there will be no wires. Only waves of Wi-Fi are for you to worry about as you play the new playing modes available through the DS to Wii connectivity. There might be even more surprises coming from this game as the months wear on.

The platform-rotating, shape-catching puzzler is set for release on the WiiDS duo later this year.
