Netflix, LiveTweet and Flickr Now Available For Download on PS Vita

One of the most promising aspects to Sony's new PS Vita, which officially goes on-sale today for everyone, is the portable's ability to download and play with apps - just like a smartphone (and the 3DS!). When you're not busying plunking down cash or digital dollars for the latest games via PSN, why not spend a little time looking at the trio of just-released apps that went live in the PlayStation Store? On tap are Netflix, Live Tweet, adn Flickr, the first being the most critical for those hoping to catch up on their latest shows and movie watching on that glorious new 5" OLED screen. Unfortunately, Engadget is reporting that the service won't work with AT&T's increasingly useless 3G service on the platform, meaing you'll be tethered to the nearest WiFi to get your streaming action on.

But hey, more apps to download and play with is better than less apps to download and play with, and having perhaps the most useful video streaming apps available on day one sounds pretty good to me.
