Street Fighter x Tekken Mobile Announced - Coming To iOS Devices This Summer
June 13, 2012 by spiffy

Well, here's a fine "How do you do?" We all know that the best time to announce a new game - especially if you want as many eyeballs eyeballing it as possible - is during the madness of E3, which wrapped up just last week (check out our spattering of exclusive coverage right HERE!). We all knew that PS Vita users would be getting some mobile fighting love this summer, but leave it to Capcom to spread the love just a bit further with the last-minute announcement that not only does Street Fighter x Tekken Mobile exist, but it's coming to compatible iOS devices this summer.

It's such a surprise that we know little - if anything - about the shrunken version of the hit home console fighter, except that it looks like Capcom's done away with the pre-rendered sprites from previous mobile editions of Street Fighter IV in favor of pure polygonal brawling goodness. New modes, including a tag-team option, will be featured as will famous faces like Ryu, Chun Li, Nina, Kazuya, as well as other favorites. You'll also need to rock a modern Apple device to play this one, too, as Capcom 'suggests' using a iPhone 4 and 4S, iPod touch 4th Gen or later, iPad 2 and the New iPad. No word yet if the online play from Street Fighter IV: Volt will be included, but at this point there's no reason not to include the single most useful feature in fighting game history, besides perfect controls, that is.

I guess we'll have to wait until the still-undisclosed release date for Street Fighter x Tekken Mobile to see what's-what. Until then, imagine taking tiny Chun Li and Nina clones with you everywhere you go. That's the stuff!
