DJ Hero, the upcoming pet project from Activision and RedOctane, has been graced with its very own website! Featuring a brightly lit stage with a shiny turntable overlooking a waiting crowd, this is one splash website that seeks to pump you up. The site is devoid of a logo and information, but it's painfully clear what the developers are trying to sell here. Simply by running your mouse over the turntables, the Flash-rendered crowd begins to cheer louder and louder, coaxing you to show of your mixing skills. If you're curious, you can enter your name, e-mail, and birthdate via the sign-up boxes directly beneath the impressive display.
Though the site isn't exactly work-friendly, as there is no "mute" button, this is indeed an impressive marketing ploy to spread the word about the upcoming mixing game. Personally, I hope it takes the ideas Konami's popular Beatmania showcased and improves upon them, particularly in the record-scratching department. Perhaps, having entered my credentials, I'll be receiving word soon enough about what the newest rhythm game franchise will feature!
You can check out the cheering crowd and impressive setup here, at the official DJ Hero site.
