If you were tossing around the idea that perhaps Japan is playing favorites with the PlayStation 3, you were right! While the PS3 has sold an impressive three million units in the land of the rising sun, the Xbox 360 has only just now reached the one million mark. According to Famitsu, the Xbox 360 has crossed the one-million mark as of March 29th with a grand total of 1,001,191 units sold since the 360's launch in December of 2005. That's a rather meager number when you consider the fact that over 29 million 360s have made their way home with Westerners since its inception.
Though the magazine reported sales numbers of both Sony and Microsoft's powerhouses, sales figures for the Wii weren't released. It's a safe bet the Wii has sold a rather healthy amount of consoles, though. With these reports we can clearly see where the Japanese's alliances lie. What's in store for the Xbox 360 in Japan, then? Only time will tell.
