It looks like Microsoft is giving potential Xbox 360 owners even more choice when it comes to picking up a special-edition version of the console this year as the company (at least in Europe) has revealed the Halo 3: ODST Xbox 360 Bundle. Hardly a surprise, considering that Halo has been and will probably always be the defining franchise for Microsoft's home gaming console and one that helped define (however unfairly) as the first-person shooter fan's platform of choice.
Not to be outdone by the recent announcement of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360 Bundle, the Halo 3: ODST Bundle looks to combine an 120GB Xbox 360 Elite console, wireless controller, copies of both Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST, as well as an invitation to the soon-to-be-announced Halo Reach beta. From the looks of things, this newest bundle mimics the earlier Halo 3 Bundle and will retail for €280 in continental Europe (USD$410) to 4,228 Rand in South Africa (USD$574).
Although no North American release has been announced just yet, it wouldn't be surprising to hear that one is imminent. A fellow editor commented that perhaps the Call of Duty Bundle was a 'timed-exclusive' in the territory, which would put the Xbox 360 in the somewhat ironic position of being the first console to have a timed-exclusive against itself. Wouldn't that be something?
