When word first came down that Sony's popular Uncharted series was set to become a live-action film, fans immediately began chattering about who might fill in the roles of action/adventure heartthrob Nathan Drake. Although fan-suggested 'dream casting' online is about as prevalant as oxygen, one actor with very real connections to the game itself has his opinion about who should take the role - Australian star Hugh Jackman.

Nolan North, who voices the character in the actual videogame series, has long been a fan of Jackman and can see him pulling it off. During an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine UK's podcast, North had nothing but praise for the Wolverine star:
"Jackman is who I'd like to see. I think the producers would like to see Jackman too, because he has that tough guy exterior, but [...] there's also a lot going on behind his eyes. A lot of emotion and sensitivity on that brusque exterior, and he has great comic timing. He's a phenomenal actor. I just hope I get a part on the movie so I can work with Hugh."
This isn't the first time that anxious videogame fans have attempted to link Jackman with their favorite digital characters. The Wolverine star has long been a fan-favorite to take the cinematic leap as Konami's age-defying Solid Snake. It will be interesting to see how the world of pop-culture reacts to the idea that Jackman play the increasingly popular Nathan Drake, and how this might affect the previous fan-favorite choice. Firefly star Nathan Fillion, who apart from sharing the same first name as the Uncharted hero has very real ties with the gaming industry (with vocal work in the Halo franchise) and has often been noted for his remarkable resemblence to the digital Nathan Drake.
