I'll just put it out there, but the original 1981 Clash of the Titans is one of my all-time favorite movies. Incredible, terrifying stop-motion work and character designs by the great Ray Harryhausen (Medusa still scares me), fine performances by Harry Hamlin, Maggie Smith, and Burgess Meredith still make it repeat viewing for my jaded eyeballs. That said, the upcoming remake is very much a modern film, looking more like the movie 300 than anything like the original's practical effects.
But I'm willing to give this one a chance, as I think the cast (Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes) is excellent, and I do like director Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk, The Transporter). Should be one to look out for when Clash of the Titans invades theaters March 26th!
