Shibyou Osen Dead Rising (literally Death Disease Contamination Dead Rising), the live-action version of Capcom's 'other' zombie survival horror franchise could be a surprise treat for fans of games and film alike. Don't look for an accurate retelling of the original game (or upcoming sequel), as the movie will follow brothers Jouji and Shin as they smash, bash, and thrash their way out of a zombie-infected town. The first trailer seems to revel in the series unabashed love of bloody horror and comedy, which always help make even the lowest-budget project watchable (and this certainly looks low-budget).

Most impressively is the film is produced and directed by non other than Keiji Inafune (creator of Mega Man, Onimusha, and Dead Rising, naturally), with a script from fellow Capcom alum, Makoto Ikehara (Breath of Fire). They're definitely keeping this one in the family.
