Its been just shy of a year when we first heard confirmation of Hasbro's intention to bring the Stretch Armstrong 'franchise' to the big-screen, and they've finally announced that lead acting duties will go to current 17-year old heart-throb Taylor Lauter (The Twilight Saga) in a 3D spectacular due to hit theaters in 2012.
Yes, Taylor Lautner will be all yours, in full 3D, in less than two years. Keep reading for more fun-facts about Twilight's beefcake, including his other toy-based action role that's already on the way...
Taylor is probably used to being pulled in all directions by crazed fans, so having him play the largely bland action hero shouldn't come as much of a 'stretch' to the star. I kid, but his many fans will probably be thrilled to learn that playing Stretch Armstrong won't be his first toy-based action role. He's also signed to play the lead in Mattel's upcoming Max Steel movie, which is due sometime in 2011.
Fun Valentine's Day Oddness - in researching this story, I discovered that Taylor's long-awaited 18th birthday is coming up on February 11th, just days away. What a nice gift to all those 40-something 'Twilight Moms' whose crazed lust over this kid will only be considered just mild creepy, instead of the borderline pedophilia it's been so far.
