If you haven't caught Batman: The Brave and the Bold animated show yet, you don't know what you're missing. Not only does it successfully recapture much of the character's comic appeal, but also does the near-impossible by helping make sense of so many disparate styles and influences. If that explanation doesn't make much sense, then it looks like you've got some fine television to watch.
Warner Bros, fresh off the recent success with Batman: Arkham Asylum, isn't finished with interactive Batman titles just yet, and it looks like they've got another adaptation on the way. That's right, good citizens, Batman: The Brave and the Bold videogame is coming to the Nintendo Wii and DS consoles! Holy moly, keep reading for even more details!
Like the animated show that begat it, Batman: The Brave and the Bold will feature several of the most popular characters in the Batman mythos, including Batman, Robin, Green Lantern, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman, with dozens of others to engage and pummel along the way.
Perhaps the most interesting thing we can report at this time is the connectivity the game offers between Wii and DS consoles, which when connected unlocks the impish Bat-Mite character, who can then be controlled (via the DS) alongside the main characters in the Wii version of the game.
The game is developed by WayForward Technologies, who were behind the excellent Contra 4 (DS) and recent A Boy and his Blob remake (Wii). They've definitely got the skills to help craft Batman into something playable, on both platforms.
While it may not be the acclaimed Arkham Asylum that Xbox 360 and PS3 users got last year, Batman: The Brave and the Bold certainly sounds interesting enough. Despite the complete lack of gameplay details, this is one we'll be keeping a close eye on, and would suggest you bone up by watching a few episodes of the show in the meantime.
