Looks like yet another remake is heading for the big screen. Warner Bros. and Atlas Entertainment are working on a Gilligan's Island movie based off the hit 60’s series. Charles Roven and Richard Suckle will produce, with Brad Copeland (Wild Hogs, Monster Squad, and the upcoming Yogi Bear movie) writing the screenplay. Original show producer Sherwood Schwartz will exec produce along with his son Lloyd Schwartz.
The film will feature a modern day take on the series, with Roven hoping to start production as early as 2011. No casting's been set, although Sherwood Schwartz stated last year that he wants Michael Cera playing the lead role. I’m not sure how well a Gilligan’s Island film will work in today’s time, but here’s hoping they can do the tv series justice. Thanks to Variety!

I love it, I wanna be the next Skipper,
how do I get an audition. Maybe some of the cast needs to be new and upcoming actors instead of paying 1000's out to the old pro's all the time. Either way I'll be at the theater watchin'!!!!
