New Ghostbusters Film Happening, Original Cast Involved Says Harold Ramis
March 30, 2009 by mruniversal

After decades of speculation and dozens of dead-ends, it seems that we're finally getting a new Ghostbusters film.  Helping this revival seems to be the almost epidemic need for Hollywood to remake and recast their entire catalog of films, not to mention the upcoming videogame (featuring voices from the original film's principle characters).  Speaking to MTV Films, the original Egon and Ghostbusters writer Harold Ramis revealed several fascinating bits and bites that should have fans salivating over the upcoming reboot.  Confirming the original cast's mentor role, he had this to say:

"We're all going to be in it in different kinds of roles. We're going to be the sage mentors. There are going to be young Ghostbusters"

Its a fascinating read that simply picking apart here wouldn't do justice, so I'll kindly refer you over to the former Music Television's website so you can soak it up for yourselves.  The original film is easily one of the funniest movies ever made (and so remains), so will busting make us feel good the second-time around, and with a completely new (and younger) cast?  I can certainly see that happening, especially with the right people in place.  Check out the full interview right HERE!

For my money:  Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, and Owen Wilson need to be involved in there, somewhere.  Make it happen.
