June 10, 2009 by mruniversal

As Apple continues their ambitious gamer-outreach program in the portable sector, it looks like their - no pun intended - core user is about to get a big boost from one of the largest digital-delivery networks, GamersGate. The company has announced that Mac-compatible games are now available for download, and they couldn't be happier.

Says Theodore Bergquist, CEO of GamersGate:

"For years, digitally delivering games to Mac users has often been overlooked by the gaming industry...With the increase in the popularity of gaming among Apple users, we've been getting requests worldwide for our library of accessible, client-free titles on Mac computers. Our mission is to offer a convenient solution for all gamers and offering Mac titles is another step in that direction."

The company is starting off with a bang, with launch titles including the award-winning World of Goo, the Hearts of Iron series, the Europa Universalis series, Flatout 2, and others. The Mac-oriented games join one of the industry's largest digital-delivery networks of over 1,100 titles from publishers such as EA, THQ, Ubisoft, and more.
