I'm really hoping that somehow, someway GI Joe turns out to be good. But judging by the trailer, I'm not really sure anymore. From the silly puns, to the ridiculous and unnecessary "Delta Six Suits" they wear (along with their uniforms, they're most likely ripped from the poorly made G.I. Joe Sigma 6 TV series), it looks like the film is going to let alot of fans down. What really hurts me while watching the trailer, is how Marlon Wayans is portrayed as the token (i.e. black stereotypical) "fool" of the movie. Especially since one of the producers, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, had said Wayans was cast due to his strong performance in Requiem for a Dream, a very sad, yet powerful drama film released in 2000.
Despite all of this, I'm sure the movie will be number one at the box office when it hits Augest 7, 2009. Real American heroes? You decide for yourselves and check out the trailer HERE.
