Those of you unfamiliar with the fantastic adventures of Herge's Tintin novels may not understand why the upcoming series of films has shot to the top of most fan's "must see" lists. In that case, you're most likely American, where the series was never as popular as it was in the rest of the world, although you'd think having Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson directing would've changed that.
The only thing that concerns me even slightly is that the films will be motion-captured animation (think Monster House, The Polar Expresss), which has never impressed me like I thought it would, taking bits from animation and live-action. The process really seems the worst of both worlds, although under the skillfull eyeballs of Spielberg and Jackson, perhaps that will change. To help ease the transition, they've recorded a special intro piece that should bring a few smiles to the faces of worried fans the world over (even in America).
So check out the recent (January) introduction of the directors, wearing special Thompson and Thomson bowler hats...please, please, please let these movies be good! See for yourselves by clicking right HERE!
