The next film from writing/directing duo Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant (creators of the British Office series) is almost here, and Gervais (The Invention of Lying) is doing his best to get the word out that fans expecting a full-blown comedy might want to lower their expectations. A coming-of-age tale set in the 1970s, Gervais states that "Cemetery Junction is a drama. If The Office is 80/20 comedy/drama and The Invention of Lying was 50/50, then Cemetery Junction is probably 20/80." Fair enough, and its probably a good idea to deflate those dreams of dynamite hilarity now before people get the wrong idea and get themselves all disappointed.
Cemetary Junction hits UK theaters April 7th, although no word yet when (or if) an American release is in the cards.
