It's no secret that Microsoft loves to get the edge on the Xbox 360's HD-equipped competitor, the PlayStation 3, whenever possible. And their preferred method of attack, exclusivity, has served them well in their battle for supremacy in the world of third-party smashes made famous on Sony's platform. With Final Fantasy XIII making its multi-console debut in March, there's little doubt that the marketing folk at Microsoft would love to give a title so passionately associated with the PlayStation 3 an extreme Xbox 360 make-over with some bundled loving.

While the highly-anticipated sequel from Square-Enix has edged its way into special-edition bundles on the PlayStation 3 console around the world, a recent post on the usually-reliable NeoGAF forum has Microsoft following suit in North America with a special-edition bundle of their own.
The Final Fantasy XIII Special Edition Bundle is rumored to include the multi-disc Final Fantasy XIII game, 250 GB hard drive, 2 wireless controllers, AV cable, headset, and network cable. All this would set back the serious Final Fantasy collector a reasonable $399, which would mimic that of the special-edition Modern Warfare 2 Bundle released alongside Activision's monster FPS last year.
At the time of this writing, however, no official announcement has been made to authenticate this latest Xbox 360 bundle, although given Microsoft's propensity for special-edition bundles of popular titles, it's likely that we'll be seeing this bundle (or some version of it) hitting North American retail shelves soon. Of course, badly Photoshopped images and factually incorrect information (listing the console/controllers as black) and the ludicrous claim that Final Fantasy XIII is "Only on Xbox 360" won't help the naysayers. Check out the full image just below as we await official confirmation or denial for the bundle.
